So after it being checked out= Bad injector in cylinder # 3. Compression is good (think he said 180) so don't think we bent a rod. Now what to do about the injectors. Do I replace them with stock from ford or a local place D&W Diesel (alliance re manufactured) with one year warranty or with Dynamite Diesel 50 hp new injectors. Was thinking about a regulated return. Would appreciate everybody's input to help me make a decision. The shop is removing all injectors. The guys at dynamite diesel said they can test my injectors and give me an idea why the one might have failed and what shape the other ones are in. Thanks for the input.

Injectors for me come from Ford with a 2 year warranty. I wouldn't use anyone else's. Many rebuilds do not include new coils unlike Ford.

got a price from Auto nation. Just wondering if anyone has used these guys injectors. They claim the get them new from manufacturer that ford does. Also tested so they all are flowing the same? What about the regulated return lines?

18:1 compression ratio, times atmospheric 14.7psi = 264.6psi. Am I missing something?

180 psi is a blown motor or leaking injectors.

I was under the impression that the regulated return lines were only needed when your trying to make big hp. If you go with oversize injectors you would need a tune to make it run correctly.

My vote would be stock injectors and stock fuel system with the blue spring upgrade and a mild tune.

.

Got the blue spring and running tunes from gearhead. Have all upgrades studs water pump BPD remote cooler ported intake dummy plugs tub oil lines Garret turbo..... ton of stuff. In way deep into this now so just gonna do another step. I was under the impression that the regulated return help with even fuel pressure for all injectors and remove air bubbles.

I have bought an injector from autonation ford and have put around 30k on it with no problems and have bought many other parts from them as well.
I also vote for stock fuel system and injectors.

OK my bad compression was 375 cylinder 1 and 380 cylinder 3. #3 was the one with the bad injector. Gonna order new ones from Ford Auto Nation. They gave me a great price last week $203 per injector. I'm surprised there isn't much to say about after market injectors. I would like to put bigger ones but afraid of reliability issues.

Sometimes worth a shot to see if a local dealer will price match. Dealing with a $180 core charge can be a hassle.

I can get Motorcraft injectors locally for $225
