7.3 idi

Hey guys I just bought a 91 f250 7.3 idi 4x4 4 speed will a powerstroke with a 5 speed drop in place of the idi? Thanks

welcome to FTE.
will it fit? yes.
but it is not an easy job. you will have to change the complete truck electrical system with the one out of the truck the engine came from. this includes dash and instrument cluster too.

And why would you want to? I'd be one thing if you blew the motor in your truck and you wanted to see what your repower options were, but a truck that you just bought? If you'd rather have a power-joke why didn't you just buy one?
And why ask that question here? Isn't that the same as joining an A's group and telling them the A's suck?

You'd be better off getting a turbo for your idi. You can easily make the same power as an early psd.
The idi's are better than people give them credit for.

First, why do you want to pull the IDI in the first place? As said above, if you want a powerstroke go buy one, not as if there arent any around.
