Which Starter?? Help quick

I cannot have my truck bot running again long story short starter is dead, checked all connections and cables, checked resistance, jumped starter solenoid and still didnt work so now I need a new starter. I need to get one today and these are my ONLY options so I just want to know which would be better. 03' style Duralast Gold starter from Autozone here
Or '03 style Ultima Select from O'Reilly here
Or is the 99' 3 bolt style starter better? Either way it's duralast or ultima please help

Based on my experiences, I'd say anything but the Autozone stuff. Oreilly rebuilt might not be much better, but it can't be worse.

In thinking more on the oreilly side, I havent heard much good about Duralast. O'Reilly seems to be stepping up over AutoZone in quality, I used to be an AutoZone guy.

Did you get reman or new? Unfortunately at O'Reilly reman is my only option, new would take 5-10 days at minimum to get here

Have it rebuilt at a local shop. They can usually have it done in an hour.

I asked that same question last weekend. The most promising long term recommendations I got was to either carry it a good local rebuilder or order a New genuine Nippodenso 2.5 kw. I found a couple online retailers that offer the 4kw( i think that means its stronger and spins faster) option for our truck for around $300.

Well I got home from work today and started looking at the starter and got tools out. Before I touched anything I thought I would just try to crank it and see what happens. Well she started up faster than ever! I drove it to AutoZone got the starter tested and alternator tested and everything was fine. I went ahead and installed another solenoid and sprayed corrosion protector on everything I could. Dont know why that happened but it was weird. Thanks

The Mitsubishi PLGR-type (Lester #17578 ) you have in your 2000 is about as good as it gets, provided you have good batteries to twist it.

I currently have 228,000 on mine, and don't plan to make any changes if and when that time comes.

I see no improvement in using the NipponDenso-design OSGR starters.

O Riley's sold me a Chinese brand new starter for my 2000. Ultima I think ? It was a Sunday and I had to get going. I kept the OEM starter, being suspicious of the china starter. It lasted a few months before it began not fully engaging and took a chunk or two out of my flywheel. Had the OEM repaired by a local shop for about $80.00. Works better then ever.
Local shop FTW!
FYI , the batteries were good, and it had a new ford battery cable

If for some reason you need to get it up and running quick go with one of the box stores BUT keep your OEM and have it rebuilt by a local starter/alternator shop, then put the OEM back on and keep the box store unit as a backup.
