wipers work half time

So as guessed from title my windshield wipers only work half of the time when they want to mostly idk... never really had timed wipers just the two set speeds. Any ideas?

I have the 'deluxe' wipers on my '92 with the intermittent speeds, and recently they behaved similarly to what you describe. Apparently there's some sort of controller in the motor itself that may go bad. When you turn the wipers on do you hear a clicking under the dash? I ended up replacing the wiper motor, but it wasn't fun by myself. Try taking a hood off by yourself, and then putting it back on without scratching anything. Now my wipers work like new. I believe this is the video I watched to find out how to do it.

Have the same problem and i can hear the wiper motor whinning bad. Gotta replace mine but a little too late since we are getting snow here in southern colorado
