OK so driving my 1988 f250 other day and rear lug nuts started snapping off and now looking for best bang for the buck wheel studs to replace them. I had to put nuts and bolts to get home. Cheap but yet good weight rating
I'm not sure if they make a stronger grade without changing diameter or not. I would replace them and make sure the lugs get torqued to correct specs so you don't have to have them loosening and breaking more studs.
Examine your wheels very close. Running loose lugs will can damage where the nut seats in the wheel. If it is damaged, the nuts will not stay tight. You may need to replace the wheel.
Yea the rims got loose and damaged a little but still operates. Need to tighten better
Keep a very close eye on them and check them frequently for a while. If they stay tight, you are good-to-go. If they keep coming loose, even a little bit, junk the wheels before they kill you!
