can someone tell me the firing order of a 66 F 100 with a 352. In my 1966 f100 with a 352 engine while looking straight at it facing the truck I am told the first spark plug to the right is number one however when using a timing light the first spark plug to the left matches up better.

All FE engines use the same firing order. It's usually cast right into the intake manifold but grease and grime can make it hard to see sometimes.
Here's the existing thread on it. Hope it helps you.
If I just google on "352 firing order" there is no lack of info but this looked like a neat one with pictures and animation showing rotor spin direction, too.
Number 1 cylinder is the left side front one. 2, 3, and 4 go back from there. 5 - 8 are right front to right rear. Firing order is 1 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 7 - 8. Sorry if this is a repeat, but thought you might be confused.
One problem is a previous owner could have installed the wires any ole way around the cap, the distributor doesn't care so long as the firing order itself is correct. Bring the "real" #1 cylinder to TDC and observe where the rotor points. Should be just shy of #1 tower on the cap.
Thank you tons gentlemen. Turns out my buddy that is teaching me mechanical stuff had everthying wired properly. He slowly turned the fan blade with a wrench and I got to see TDC looking in the spark plug hole. However the confussion was because some knucklehead gave him the firing orde of a Chevy. Turns out what he thought was the #2 cylinder was indeed the #1. Everything was hooked up right, he was just dumbfounded it was running so well. In the end when we changed wires the numbers he wrote on the distributor cap were wrong but the wiring was right.
Soooo......next question is, is there a real difference between 8mm spark plugwires and 7mm besides 1mm? I know it should have points but someone converted it.
