Hey Guys, I just ordered a TS 6 position Chip today. When i was pulling out the PCM to get the 4 digit code I found that the two bolts holding the wiring harness to the fire wall was a pain in the *** to get off. Im not looking forward to doing it all over again when the chip arrives, haha, anyone have any experience putting one of these chips in? Any advice would be appreciated!!
It's not that hard. Take the keys out of the ignition. Clean the contacts. Slide the chip on and tape it in place for good measure. Either cut a hole in the plastic or fold the cable over and slide the plastic cover back on the PCM. Don't loose the metal ground clip on one of the screws and bolt it back into place.
Since you have an Ex, go down and read some in the Ex forum about the PATS just in case you wind up having a chip problem and it trips the PATS and you need to figure out how to get it started again.
Definitely post up after the chip install. Excursions can be a bit touchy with chips and the PATS (ant-theft system), nothing serious to worry about - just quirky.
You'll get used to popping out the PCM once you do it a few times. The instructions posted above will get you there......
TS Chip arrived today around 1030, by 1 I had it in and working great. Ive only used the 65 daily tune so far and theres an IMMEDIATE difference in power, acceleration, and the shift points are much better. I'm going to leave it in the 65 daily tune for a couple weeks to get a feel for fuel mileage increases (hopefully) haha
