I just got my TW chip in today and I know that this has been gone over before, but I'm going to ask it anyway. how do I install it. I'm sure there is a write up of this somewhere but I couldnt find it.
you must pull the park brake assembly out or remove the pcm. either one works.
remove the rectangular plastic tab off the rear cover of the pcm. clean the protective resin off the contact grid. pop the chip in place and cut the pcm cover for clearance of the chip. route wires and your done
I have never seen what that plug look like when it is pulled off. I take it that there is just one way that the chip will go in there. I probably wouldnt ask these questions normally but didnt have time to work on it before it got dark so I am having to think about it all night.

What do you need to cut the cover of the PCM while its still in the truck (going through behind the brake)? a dremel tool? Thanks.

Nevermind what do you cut it with, I want to know why he suggests cutting it. Over the last 8 years I've had 5 different chips ( Superchips Gold, BullyDog, TS Performance, DP Tuner and TWildman) I've never had to cut the cover for clearance with any of them.

I thought the same thing...I did not cut anything when I did mine....hardest part was taking out the PCM.....I finally almost fully removed the inner fender well and it became a piece of cake......the other part that is a PIA is figuring where you want to put the damn ****.
