Fuel additive

What is best way to add additive? Before filling up, in the middle filling up, or after full.

I do mine at the station right before filling up.

I also put whatever additive in the empty tank and then fill up. Helps mix it all together I figure.

In my old 06 F 250 I used stanadyne w good results. So now in my excursion I decided to stick w it. Have used Motorcraft treatment in the past and worked well too. Tried Lucas once. Truck didn't like it. Added stanadyne after I brought my Excursion home. It's quieter now and a bit smoother.

I use mothballs. Two boxes per tank and -BAM- 40 extra HP! Dollar store sells them too no need for the name brand. Sometimes I top off the tank with a gallon of bleach to help clean the fuel lines and fuel filter too.

Have heard about mothballs (napthalene). Have also heard about holes in pistons. Bleach? Really? Lemon-scented OK?

I ran my v10 238k miles before I sold it and never needed to add pee in a can to it, just sayin...
My 6.0 is a different animal that actually runs better with cetane booster, I use it now with every fill.

No, it must be unscented and not the HE stuff. The plain yellow thin bleach.
