Question Too Much Fuel Treatment ?

How much is too much fuel treatment
Im using that 'service plus cetane boost' fuel treatment. My area can get down rite cold and i was concerned about gelling. The bottle treats 100 gallons of fuel per 32oz bottle.

Should I follow that scale or would it hurt to put more in the tank at fill up. How much is too much. Would pouriing all the 32oz into my 29 gallon tank at fillup hurt my engine ????

I have used an entire gallon container (treats 300 gallons) in 15 gallons of fuel at the race track; didn't seem to hurt a thing. I have heard of the pulling tractors running the stuff up to nearly 15% fuel mixture, but I can't confirm it.

To answer your question directly- NO. It won't hurt a thing. If you do run this much, however, make sure you put the additive in on a nearly empty tank at fillup (with the engine off) and fill up before you start the truck, in order to make sure it is well-mixed.

Some of the additives like PRI-D will work better if added per PSD's instructions above and then given a bit of time to chew on the fuel. I.e., drive it home with the newly full tank of fuel and park it for a few days.

PRI-D claims to work on the molecular stucture of the fuel and breaks up clumped molecules so it takes some time for it to do that.

Just like grandma said, no swimming after eating. Gotta let it digest.

Would it be better to add the PS before fueling or after? I have always put it in before thinking that it would mix better. The bottle just stated to add when fueling.

I notice when using the additive that my driveway idle sits at 1000 until I touch the brake. Interesting...

There is a idle speed increase that kicks in after a few minuets. It's increases oil flow. it will turn off when you touch the brake. It's normal.

mine idles normally at about 650 rpm, when it is cold, I leave it idle with the parking brake on, it will go up to about 750rpm until I hit the brake pedal and it will drop down again. I did this when it was about 30 degrees out yesterday.
