Productive Weekend

Did full coolant system flush with distilled water and switched to Delco ELC. Also swapped over to the Mishimoto High Temp Thermostat, added diesel site coolant filter, and installed Blue Spring upgrade.

For those on the fence on flushing your coolant system, I highly recommend it. I got out at least 4-5 tablespoons of casting sand, chunks, and sludge. It was unbelievable.

I've only owned my truck since November and I was able to pull a warranty report and oasis report. The truck had a new engine installed back in 09 along with New oil cooler and Egr. 87k now on the clock and I am sure glad I was able to get most of the crap flushed out of the coolant system. I am hoping the coolant filter will do the rest. Deltas have never been higher than 7* and usually fall within 5-7 degree range.

This is my exact plan in April once I'm done working 90 hour weeks. Not sure if I'm going to end up with Cat, Zerex, Peak Final Charge, Delo, or what yet though. Too many choices, I'll probably end up with whatever is on the shelf at AutoZone.

been driving on the highway all this morning, and deltas are now up to 9 degrees. Hoping they stay put.

Sounds like some much needed maintenance! Thanks for picking up our thermostat.
