I have a 2006 6.0. I had the dead vac pump problem. Replaced it with new pump and everything worked fine for a month or so. Now the pump wont cycle at all. pulled pump and applied outside power source and it runs fine. Is there a specific relay/ fuse that controls power here? thanks
Check your manual for the fuse? The other thing to check is the prongs in the plug, are they all straight and making contact? One thing you can do is disconnect the pump line and see if disconnecting from the tank causes it to fire up? It only runs when it detects lack of vacuum. It's possible your system is just that good and No leaks. If will also engage when you put 4 wheel on or adjust the HVAC as vacuum is used for both.
My manual is for a 2005, its shows you should check fuse 31 and 33, but I couldn't find a reference to the vacuum pump specifically. This is the fuses under the steering wheel behind the panel.
I have had some strange times with my vacuum pump. See how you make out, but my old pump was coming apart and loosing its seal, it couldn't pump worth a darn. I juririgged it to work by zap strapping it back together so it could work well enough to have AC in the summer. They are plastic and the clips in the formed edges didn't hold well once deformed.
