Purchased the rig in November, Currently has 129,xxx miles on the motor and body. Its been awhile since I've done anything to a vehicle since wrecking my last vehicle but i always enjoyed showing off what I'm doing to my vehicles and offer help and advice for others as i learn new things along the way.
I am new to the Diesel lifestyle along with larger vehicles so ill also accept advice and help as much as possible. With my last vehicle being a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit its big difference from working on that to working on the Excursion.
Photo of my old car
But Anyway since i just recently bought it i havent had time to do to many things that i want to do just yet but with time i will.
The Excursion is a 7.3l Powerstroke and came with
K&N Cold Air Intake
4"Turbo Back Magnaflow has one muffler
I have done,
Front Brakes and Calipers
New Brakes Lines
New Rear Brakes and Calipers
New rear Seals
New Rear backing plates
TS 6 position chip
Things i need to still do
Repair rust on the rear door seals both sides
Also need to replace the seal for my front drive shaft
And a new cover for my pumpkin
I also plan to make the wheels black
debating a new exhaust tip either polished or black
I plan to get larger tires nothing to big thinking 285's
and if needed level the front end out.
@Themoose i love it i cant give an honest review on if it helps with MPGs due to cold weather i let it warm up for 10-15mins every morning with the high idle setting on. But im getting around 650 a tank currently. My other issue is im addicted to the 140hp setting.
I forgot to add i have added a Triple gauge pod setup with my EGT, Trans and a boost gauge.
Howdy neighbor! Another PA guy here SE corner for me.
For the new rear cover this a great deal, fits perfectly and looks sweet plus it's a quality OEM unit. 2008+ SuperDuty finned aluminum rear diff cover part #8C3Z4033A, I bought mine from Tousley Ford Parts (now Auto Nation Whiter Bear Lake) for $45.97. You will need new bolts for it as it's thicker than the stamped steel stock cover. Ford wants like $13 for each bolt so skip those and buy some 5/16"-18 x 1 1/4" bolts and washers for it, I went with stainless allen head machine screws on mine.

I installed my Chip switch here
and thats my gauges
I feel you on the cold weather and warming her up for 10-15 minutes, it definitely doesn't help with mpg's and the 140 hp setting REALLY won't help haha
My buddy has the TS chip on his 2002 f250 7.3 and he's claiming 17 around town..I'm not sure how accurate that is but with my hand calculations from a full tank I was getting 14.8, that was 80% town and 20% highway driving. I'm hoping to see 16-17 around town with it. ((I baby the crap out of the skinny pedal around town))
Welcome to FTE. Looks like you got a nice start on your new Excursion.
Are those corvette wheels on the VW?
Yes they are Corvette Sawblades off the C4 i believe they were 17x9.5 all around but i also stretched a 205/40 tire to make the car sit how it did
