I thought I would share my attempt at rebuilding the steps on my flareside. I really don't know how it's going to work out but here is what I have so far. I actually welded 10 pieces together to make the piece I'm going to graph in. Using my brake didn't work, then I made a jig but failed again. Last resort was welding
I have 2 fair condition steps I bought to replace mine on the 66. I am not sure I will use them, I ended up welding a new inside edge (mounting side) on my stock bed. I have sandblasted the new to me steps and ready to primmer. I will let them go to a new home if interested.

Hey Ranger, are your steps off of an eight foot bed?
Unfortunately not, sorry to get your hopes up. Someone could make a killing re-popping these.
Seriously. I have called several places and cannot believe no one makes them, I saw one pair on eBay once but missed the deadline to bid and have not seen another set in 6 months of watching.

I saw some yellow ones on ebay quite some time ago but have not seen any since either. I figured I would try to see what I could do with what I have and if it doesn't work out, I'll be back on the look out again. I've just been limited to what I can do since it's unbearable to work outside or even in the garage with the frigid weather.
Had an opportunity to weld in new section of step on Sunday. It
got to a balmy 38 degrees so I took advantage of it. I still need to plug a few little holes but I think it came out ok. Need to cut out and do another section towards the front mount as well
