Thumbs up Show Off your Truck Bed!!

Hey guys,

This is the place to show off your truck bed! Is it perty? Is it fugly? Is it stock? Is it custom? Is it finished? Is it a work in progress? Show it off!

I'll start..

Mine is a POS. Notice the un-straight sheet metal, the lack of a bumper, the hacked up back and the welded on angle-iron. (The cross-braces and skid strips are now removed. These pictures are a week old..)

What I plan to do is cut off the angle iron, put in a couple of stake pockets, put in some wood, clean up and paint the cross-braces and skid strips, put in a wood end cap, a roll-pan, and then clean up all the paint scratches.. :P

Here's mine. I have been very pleased with it's utility. I love the polished wood look, but I wouldn't haul stuff in it. Since mine is a daily driver and working rod, I opted for the bed liner.

OK, here's mine. Its not finished yet. The first pic is after I built the new substructure and mounted it on the truck. The second pic is of the bed floor and front panel that I need to cut down to fit between my bedsides.

Now that I can drive the truck I will get back to work on the bed

Whoah, Bobby!!! You mean that bed isn't done??? And after you took all the time to custom install that gas filler neck.

Seriously, the new bed floor is gonna look swell. Did you get that for free also?

Randy,

You like that huh? Rednecks of the world unite!! I can custom make a fuel filler neck for your truck also! Heck, I might even market them as they are pretty much uiniversal fit and can be adapted to any application.

The plans are to route the fuel filler between the bed and frame rail and install a fuel door in the passenger rear fender (I'm too chicken to cut a huge hole in my fender) so I'm trying to find some other cool way to fill the tank. Any suggestions?

You geussed it, I got the bed for free. OK, OK, I gave my buddy a 30 pack for it because he was nice enough to cut the bed sides off of it for me. He works at a body shop and it was in teh scrap pile (the bed sides were destroyed when the owner let his 5th wheel trailer fall on the bed sides)

i'll get pics of mine tomorrow, i used cedar planks and left the runners out. gives it that unfinshed look to go with the satin black. made a wood crate and restored an old metal cooler to match the theme.

Here's what I do;

I have to have the pic loaded in my gallery. Then I open another browser window to FTE and open up my own gallery.
I find the pic I want and click on it to get it full sized.
Right click on the pic and go down to "properties"
a box will come up with a desciption of the pic.
Look at the adress adn highlight it either by clicking and dragging over it or triple clicking on it.
Now right click and copy
Now go back to your first window with the thread you are trying to post in.
Instead of clicking on the "post quick reply" click on "go advanced"
Now when the text box comes up it has options for bgold, underline, etc, in the lower row of options towards the right hand side is a small box with what looks like a mountain in it. If you hold your cursor over it is should say "insert image"
Click on "insert image"
when the box comes up it will prompt you for a URL and the start of the addy (http://) will be highlighted in blue. If its not highlighted already just click at the end of it and backspace until its clear
Click on the box and then right click and hit paste to paste your pics info in the box
Click ok
The pic should show up in your post

Hope this helps
Bobby
