Transmission Tag Decipher

Can someone help me with this?
The vehicle is an LCF and the trans has been replaced at least twice before.
I'm picking up a Craigslist transmission tomorrow and I have experts telling me things that can't be true.
1. The transmission I need is a special 5R100 that is only for LCFs
2. The bellhousing bolt pattern is different between the V6 powerstroke and the 6.0.
3.Some 6.0 trannies will fit but not all. ??????? (...The heck is that supposed to mean?)

Before I go pick up a trans and find out these two Ford guys are right and I'm the *** hole, could someone please tell me what this tag says?
I had my boss crawl under the truck and take this pic.
Can anyone tell me what this tranny originally came in?

Thank you guys as always!

Your 6c3p is what tells you the application year and model
7000 is the base part of a trans
Kb is a revsion number.
A trans for an 06 truck should be 6z3z 7000 ??.
Based solely on ford part numbers they are different. I have no idea if it will work for you.

You got your old tranny, bell housing, torque converter? At this point. Pick it up and see what you got. Just make sure they will take a return that is not used.

http://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts-...ter-drive.html

Entering the number 6C3Z-7000-K in FordParts.com, it takes me to 5C3Z-7000-MRM

Also:

I see some WHB dimensions on the LCF that are not on the list at FordPartsGiant: 113, 149, 167, 185. NOt sure how pertinent it is, just some differences. Also, the model changes for PTO or no PTO.

Below has a pic of the LCF transmission on page #16

Mark is easy to find.
If saying Transmission 3 times fast while spinning around does not get him
to look in on the thread then try a PM.

Wondered who would pick up on that!

I haven't taken the trany out of the LCF.
So the tag on it suggests that it came out of a 06 F250?

Also, no one has dove in here to tell me:
A. There's no such thing as 5R100
B. the 4.5 is a 6.0 with two cylinders missing and has the same exact ISO to FMC adapter plate.

It's almost 6am

Ford made the 5R110 TorqShift that is in the LCF. Ford only made ONE bellhousing pattern on every 5R110 that was ever built. a 6.0L or 6.8L 5R110 will work fine on that trans, as long as it has the same output shaft as the trans that's in there now. I seem to remember that the 4x2 and 4x4 used the same shaft, but a different extension housing.

Don't get one from a 5.4L, those have internal differences that will cause it to fail early behind a 4.5L. It will bolt right up and function, it just won't last.

Ha ha, everyone gets your name wrong Mark. If the OP can get his boss to crawl under trucks maybe he should convince him to unbolt the old transmission and bolt it back up. He can do the test drive LOL! It's called manning UP!

Yeah, they do. That was a new one, though. I've never seen it spelled like that. Just saying Mark K works much better than guessing at the name.
