Well took the truck out today.. And I need to address the shifter issue... The shifter (t18)has a little wobble .. But the real pain is that it spins like 180 degrees ... Before I take it apart.. Can anyone tell me what might be the issue..
Thoughts opinions will all be appreciated..thank yo.
T-18 shift lever retainer cap (7220) threads off/on. When it's removed, a roll pin (7B125) is visible within its threads that locks the shift lever in place.
If the roll pin is missing, the shift lever will spin around and around and around, where she stops, nobody knows.
ND... Took it apart discovered pin was worn down..was able to make another.. Works great now..
Thank you
Isn't that amazing? I had a keeper screw come off one of the shift forks and the ball and pin were worn down. I thought I was going to be into some serious cash and time to get that fixed. I got some new screws, # 7245 in the diagram, and fixed the shift forks. I welded up the ball on the end of the shifer and reground the groove. I made a new pin from a 1/4 " drill bit. Shifts better than it ever has before. These trucks are simple, I love simple.
