My shifter seems to be all over the place lol, in gear its fine but the 2-3 shift is tricky and grinds sometimes if I don't get it perfect. Reverse can also be tough to get to. Is the shifter supposed to rotate? And what can I replace to tighten it up?
I had the same problem on my t98. My shifter was real sloppy. when I unscrewed the retaining cap my roll pin had augered out the slot on my shifter. The way I fixed it was I filed the slot in my shifter so the sides are straight. Then took a hardend drill bit the exact size of the slot (so it just fits in slot). then reamed out the hole in the threaded part of transmission top the exact size of the drill bit. Then I made a roll pin from the shank of the drill bit to the length needed. I put it all together and the shifter works great.
Well I checked it out and it looks like that's what I'm going to have to do killerkjn. The pin was there but real loose and looks like a home made pin, the slot on the handle isn't in to bad of shape but I'm going to have to do something before it gets really beat up lol.

Hi NumberDummy, I was hoping you had a part number for the spring inside the emergency brake handle.
And also, if I have replaced my Trunnion pin and I still have a lot of play, what else should I look at? Thanks for any help.
