It's been a little while but I'm back, haven't really done much with the truck except...
Almost finished wiring, still need 12 volt dash solutions but the lights are all hookerd up. That's perty neat.
I installed and oak bed wood kit with some stainless doodads. And I think I've killed my motor due to a leaky carburetor, the whole time I thought I was chasing ignition problems but instead I was flooding the engine while trying to start it. this has been going on for over a year, whenever I had time start troubleshooting all over again and again every couple weeks. So more to come out I'll post up some of the few pictures of progress I've made.
I put a rush on most of it to get the truck ready to be trailered cross country when I moved a couple years ago, for most of my time away however I had sidelined this project for another more family oriented jeep wagoneer which turned out great. But I do want my truck in a better position than it currently sits.... Hopefully more to come.
Nice work on the truck. I'm looking forward to more pictures.
Thanks, it's a bit further along than my last update, so I'll get it up to speed, but I've been battling even getting it started but I think I've got it figured out, the plugs are fouling so too much fue, l too thin of oil, fuel pressure to high, and may need a carburetor. I think the trouble is an electric pump is override the float valve and the extra pressure is pulsing more fuel down the hatch than necessary. I was able to clean the plugs and started and idle for a while but it's died out again and won't start.. I no longer have concerns about my ignition system figured after the 3rd zap from the coil today it must be working well enough.
Got a little video of it was pretty happy for but a moment

Been poking at my truck tryin to figure what's wrong,. I've rolled out ignition problems and verified that it's flooding causing fouled plugs, the cause I believe it's from electric fuel pump surging pressure bouncing the float valve. I was going to swap out for mechanical pump but there is no pump eccentric in the cam, so I removed radiator, accessories, belt, pulleys, Water pump and timing cover.
had to pull the chain off, needed a longer pin.
It's mostly ready to go back together but I need some gaskets and seals.
Hopefully the mechanical pump will do the trick.
Initially I used the electric because there is no room for oil filter and the 90* remote filter setup had the lines out forward with no room for mechanical. I replaced the 90* with a straight.
