On our '50 we put the battery behind the seat in the cab where the
gas tank was. We used one of those small Marine style batteries.
It's not a bad location - kind of a stretch to get to when charging or jumping but not bad. We didn't have any room left in the engine compartment once we did A/C.

Good luck over there.

(From San Francisco this week).

My battery location. I also installed a battery shut off switch and a charging post just above the frame on the passenger side of the engine bay and am glad that I did.

Thanks for the input, i appreciated it.

Bill, nice work.
Ben, I am keeping my original (new) tank so behind seat not an option.
I do plan on having charging posts and kill swith though, good info thx. But under the bed is where I'll put it. I've still got the bed off from doing rear cab corners so it's more convenient. Plus my bed floor is shot so I will make access panel when I redo the bed.

Not quite ready for paint yet but when I get a little nearer I want a visual aid to decide some different color schemes, so I sketched this up and made some copies to color over.

Hey Justin,
I like that sketch! My kids won't let me play Pictionary - because all I can draw are stick figures!

Looking good over there!

Is there a fix for the handle or is that a replacement issue. It still works well and the driver side straight so I haven't fooled with me yet

Hi Justin, If your referring to the droopy door handle there are a couple ways I seen to correct it. At least one other member added metal with his mig (I believe) where it was worn away and reworked it back to the original shape. I followed another path I saw here on the site where I heated and twisted the shaft on the outside handle just enough to bring it up to straight. I have a few pics of this process in my photo album "#12 Repairing droopy door handles" which you can access by clicking on my avatar. By the way, your doing a beautiful job on your truck.

Finally managed to make the last patch for the cab. May end up being a throw away however due to slight fitment issues.

Thanks for the reply on the handle fix I'll look into both options.
