I've noticed that the reverse lights on my 08 F250 are pretty much useless for lighting up what's behind. I've had my truck for 7 or 8 months and hadn't really paid attention to it until now. Does anyone have a recommendation for a better bulb to replace the stock bulbs? Replacing the entire taillight lens assembly isn't something I'm interested in doing; just hoping a better bulb will do the trick.
I do a ton of work behind my truck and what not, I installed LED lights on the factory hitch and they run on a switch inside of the truck (aux 4 to be exact so that they can run while in park or truck is off with key in acc position.) but they are super bright and very functional. total cost for the lights was $60 and i installed myself I do all of my own installation it was simple.
LED light pods mounted and wired to Aux 4 for reverse lighting, work lighting, hooking up trailers, etc (also wired on Aux 4 is bed lighting mounted under each bed rail)
A friend of mine mounted a couple lights behind the bumper. You can't see them unless you look up behind the bumper. They don't shine very far back, but they provide great light while hooking up his camper or trailer without shining in your face.
