i pulled a buddys boat tongiht after dark and than tried to back it in his garage and couldnt see much at all, i do have tinted windowns but still i think i need some more back up lights but dont want to spend a pretty penny on them and i also want to try and kind of hide them if possible
i installed a set of backup lights that i got from cabelas there a slim light and i mounted them on my hitch and turned them so they were more out to the side intead of straight out i also wired them into the back up lights so i didnt have to worry about putting them on a switch and i would have them as soon as it went into reverse
Jeremy, i am still debating if I am going to tie them into the reverse lights or just put them on a manual switch. I'll probably just do the switch (good excuse for upfitters), but I really wish my truck was lifted so I could hide them better.
The other day at a family get-together, I moved my cousin's F150 from in front of the driveway for him, and when I put it in reverse... it was scary. No light back there at all. Felt very vulnerable while backing up. It's strange to drive a vehicle without the extra light back there that I've been used to.
Same boat. I personally want mine somewhat hidden. I guess I could start looking for some places under the truck, as it's more of just a thought right now.
I am looking at some LED tubes. They would mount like reverse sensors. Looks like it would be a hell of a chore to put them in, but no one would guess that they are lights!
I saw these lights at " stylin concepts." They seem like a pretty good deal and they come with different mounting options too. http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.a.../categoryid/26Hope this works for yah.. Country
When I was looking to hide mine I felt that it dropped the through distance due the the angle, that is why I went with putting them right next to the hitch, hopefully the hitch will offer some protection if I back into an embankment or similar. The center wire in the rv plug is already connected into the reverse circuit and has its own fuse. I would suggest using it and not using the ones in the brake assembly. This way if you add two 55watt lights you're not going to hurt anything at all. I have mine on both a switch and connected to reverse.

Do you have any pictures of your setup? I didn't see any in your gallery.
I used to have a few pics of it in the gallery, I will find them and repost
Sweet, found it quick enought to be able to edit here it is: This is an older pic though, I have replace those lights with some new ones but the mounting location is the same.
