Hi,
I have a 1999 F250 power stroke diesel, 4 wheel disc brakes and ABS. I want to replace the parking brake shoes as the pins that hold the shoes to the back plate have rusted off. My question is do i need to pull the axel shaft to do this job or is there enough room after taking the brake disk off to get in there to do the job? The truck manual is telling me the axel shaft, bearings, and seal must all come out to gain access.
