So the door panels on my 86 F250 XLT Lariat are in pretty sad shape; the usual sun devastation stuff. Anyway, looking at Bronco graveyard I am seeing both a light brown and a dark brown replacement door panel. Does anyone have any experience with which of these would be an appropriate replacement for the tan panels that are stock on my truck? I am not sure how to insert a picture so here is a link to a photo album of my door: https://plus.google.com/photos/10923...CMqpjMDlgvvPPw
You'll notice that the color is much darker lower on the door where the sun didn't hit the plastic as much.
You can determine the color of your trim by decoding the Cert Label on the door. Or we can. And if you can't find the right color you can paint the panels. SEM paint works really well on plastic.
Here's a link to a sticky with exterior and interior colors. But, I can't find 8Q nor 9N. Perhaps someone who has the 1986 factory shop manual can help.

Sorry.
That is really helpful actually. I missed that how to when I looked through that section.
Looking at that link, I think I gave you the two tones of the exterior color. I found them both under the accent section and they look like the original colors on the truck.
If I am reading things right about the interior colors, I think I have the desert tan interior color (code U).
That would make more sense. I looked through a lot of links but couldn't find the codes in the interior sections. Now I know why. Glad you figured it out.
Going back to the original question though, does anyone know if either the "light brown" or "dark brown" replacement door panels that bronco graveyard sells are a match for the "Desert Tan" color of interior?
