Ok..since I have his problem of over torquing everything which leads to a lot of headaches..... I decided to start using my torque wrench..l can anyone tell me the torque spec for front cab mounts on a 1966 F100 2wd..
I do not have it, but I do not think it matters.
There is a steel sleeve that goes through the rubber mounts. The bolt slips down through this sleeve.
The sleeve will stop the nut from spinning down too far on the bolt, preventing you from over tightening the bolts, and apply the right pressure to the mounts.
My 66 shop manual lists some torques but then it has a list of bolt sizes and recommended torques. Not specific to each and every fastener, but more a list to go by when there isn't an easily found published torque spec. I'll see if I can dig that up later.
What you want is the Ford Truck Shop Manual. Each section has a "specifications" table with torque values for all the different fasteners. Failing that, if they are not listed there are general machine shop published guidelines depending on the bolt grade and size that will work for you.
