Body mounts?.

Well just noticed that the front cab bolts are missing...was going to head out to the hardware store and try and locate a set...it's strange.. Previous owner replaced the back ones... the front bushing are a different story.... The front cab bushings look fairly new but is missing the hardware.. It appears like he never put it on.....wondering what I can do.. Would hate to have to buy another complete set.. A few questions

Should there be a rubber bushing between the cab and the bolt inside the cab mount pocket(in other words..in order.. Is it bolt, washer ,Cab , bushing, frame, bushing, washer ,nut)

If I have to replace the front bushing in between the cab and frame .. Can I lift the cab enough to R&R the old bushing..??

Anyone just sell the front Mounts as a set?...if not who sells a complete set?

Thanks in advance

Yes, this is correct - with the head of the bolt inside the cab, nut underneath on the bottom.

Very likely, yes.

You will find the steering column and shift linkage to be the culprits if you cannot lift it enough to R&R the old ones. Possibly the clutch or automatic transmission shift rod, but not as likely, I would think.
Under the hood next to the firewall, loosen the clamp on the steering column where it is held to the firewall bracket. Also, loosen the bolts holding the column to the underside of the dash.
That should give you enough slack to lift the cab just a bit to slip the new bushings in place.

Dennis Carpenter, Carolina Classics and LMC sell the kits for these. Drawings show the correct assembly too.
NPD, Obsolete Parts (in Oklahoma City) and others may also.
Hope this helps!

banjopicker.... So there will be no rubber bushing inside the front cab support correct..Only rubber bushings are between cab and frame and the frame and bottom nut..

Jester, sorry to hijack your thread, but I've been looking for an answer for this for awhile now and I think I found it here in the picture that Bill posted. I hope he will elaborate on this for me...

Looking through the stack of 6 or so of the usual catalogs we all have for our old trucks, I can't find any that seem to agree on a year range and part number for cab mount pads for my '65 F250 2wd. Looking at the picture that you posted Bill, would I be correct in assuming that the year range on the bottom, 64-72 will give me the correct mounts for my 65? I hate returning parts and I just want to order what's correct.

Thanks ahead of time and sorry for the hijack.

Since you have the 1964/72 Ford truck parts catalog, I'm going to let you find the correct parts, because it's a PITA mish-mash that will require me to do a lotta lookin' and typing.

TEXT - BODY SECTION 000 - Pages 30 thru 35 / Page 30 shows the pic, pages 31 thru 35 show the parts required for body bolt location #1 (front cab mount) & #2 (rear cab mount).

Upper absorbers (rubber insulators) are basic number 00154 .. lowers are basic number 00155

Post 4: The parts catalog pic I posted is a general pic for 1964/72, but the absorbers are not all the same. For example...1964: Ford says to improvise from tire carcass!

Apply to your truck: 1965/66 F100/250 2WD 129" wheelbase, body style 81 conventional cab.

I assume that 6-9 PM is CDT -- That would be 4-7 PM here in LA LA Land (PDT)

26 miles across the sea, Santa Catalina is awaitin' for me. Santa Catalina, the island of romance, romance, romance. romance. -Beach Boys.

The problem is, I'm inland...40 miles east of the sea, so Santa Catalina Island is 66 miles away.

Better than 40 miles West of the beach...

Oops. Forgot about this being the world wide Web and all. I am in the Eastern zone. Middle of Michigan. 3 hrs ahead of you my friend.

Cheers
