Hey guys & gals,
I am replacing my cab bushings earlier today & was having a hard time removing them from the frame after I got the bolts out. Lifted the cab of course to get clearance but it seems as if the top washer & the bottom nut welded piece are one unit ( kinda looks like an apple core _____

but it wont separate. Does this just bang apart or does is there something I am missing?
Got it soaking with PB blaster now. And will tackle it again in the morning.
Take a screwdriver and dig them apart, they are just stuck. If you look at the design after it's apart, you will notice the bolt that holds the cab on, has no metal contact with the frame crossmember. The cab is totally isolated from the frame with rubber. This is why ground wires to the bed and cab sheetmetal are so important.
Check the condition of the frame crossmember after you get the mount out. You may find it's rusted out, a common problem.
The easyest way i have found to take them apart is take a piece of pipe that is large enough diameter to fit around the bottom of the body bushing(approx 4") and weld a flat plate across it. Drill a hole in the middle of the flat plate about 1/2". that will make a puller to pull the 2 sections of steel bushings apart
Thanks guys, I finally got them apart but it was a pain!!! The only one that was difficult past that was the ds rear. Gas tank is right in the way.
Good news is I got my girl back together and she has new poly cab & radiator bushings. I will do the front end prolly next weekend or when my aching arms recover enough to lift them above my waist.
Then finally is the rear end.
