Has anyone done a ICP sensor delete. I ask this because I have a 03 6.0L
and the ICP sensor is on the back of the motor where you cant reach it and about every 3 years I blow out my ICP sensor and its always when we are out of town and leaves me on the side of the road. I know it has a purpose to protect the engine on low oil ,but I have never been low on oil ( with out the ICP failing ) , but I have been stuck on the side of the road because my ICP blow out cause oil to blow out everywhere leaving me stranded .
Just wondering if anyone else has thought about doing a delete on the ICP and bypassing the wires to trick the sensor ?
It actually tells your computer how much pressure is in the high pressure oil system. Thats used to determine how your fuel system is behaving. There is no delete for the icp. Your truck needs it! Thats why your stranded when it fails.
Theres a topic in the 6.0 forum about it. You could have a custom hydraulic hose made with the correct fittings on each end. But it seems like if its longer then 12 inchs it doesn't work properly. Also it would have to be protected from all the heat of the turbo.
