LED map light bulbs

You guys find any PC579 sized LED bulbs for the map lights? I was looking on line and haven't found anything besides the stock bulbs. There has to be something out there.

Clay swapped LED's into the interior lights of his truck before I bought it a few years ago, Nick. Have you checked with him?

Trucks and excursion hav different bulbs up front.

Yeah, I know, but I was thinking he might know where to get the ones you want since he deals with LED's and he also has an Excursion.

I just dropped these guys in...HUGE difference over stock, and much better coverage as well

I think they were around $10 on amazon for the pair.

Did you replace the housing or solder them in? I went to my local napa and got pc579 bulbs that you can change the bulb out without soldering new ones in, cost about $4.50 each.

popped the old bulbs out, slid these in the stock housing, I did solder, but it's not needed the way those seat in there.
This was a huge difference in light over the stock incandescent, plus the current draw savings was pretty important, as I tend to spend a lot of time camping/with doors open.

They work!

Put these exact bulbs in our 04 X dome/map light tonight and they worked great. Removed original bulb from the plastic housing and slipped these in. They are a little loose fitting, (one fell back out when I snapped the plastic light cover back on) but otherwise very much of an improvement. Thanks for the help.

Just got them in both excursions last night and man what a difference!! Well worth it! I also went to napa and bought 4 of the PC579 lights and for what ever reason when you get those it changes it to a normal 194 bulb! Highley recommended!
