Converting lights to LED

Something I would like to have on the truck, but I have not seen many effective examples. Has anyone here found any of the replacement LED bulbs that have a good light distribution pattern and are as bright or brighter than incandescents? Most that I have seen have the LED bulbs all facing the same direction, which makes no use of the reflector, so all the other drivers see is a tiny red dot in the middle of your taillight.

Better yet, has anyone made their own LED panels to put in a taillight?

I have all LED's, from my directionals, to my side markers, to my roof lights, my third brake light and taillights. They light up brighter and cleaner then stock bulbs. As for the taillights, unless you have a reason to convert to LED in the rear (i.e: clear taillights) then don't waste your time replacing them. Also you would have to install equalizers in the rears due to lack of voltage drop from then LED.

That sounds like exactly what I would like to have eventually. All LED except the headlights. I dont have clear taillights though, I personally have not seen a taillight made for our generation of trucks that I think looks better than stock (not a big fan of the blinged out taillights on a vehicle designed to to work).

The main reason I'm interested in the conversion is the ability to use the LED bulbs as emergency flashers (vol. firefighter). Since LED's turn on and off so much faster they could be syncronized with the LED grille lights, and when turned off they wont be as noticable as a separately mounted light. The second reason is the increased brightness and faster illumination for safety reasons.

So where did you get your bulbs and electronic flahers? What kind are they? Got any pics?
Thanks

I can get you some updated pictures np. As for where I purchased them, I got all of them off eBay. Just type in whatever bulb number you would need for stock bulbs but just specify LED's, I used "Super Amber" LED's, there a bit darker and cleaner looking, but just my preference, you may want the lighter ones.
