LED Bulb Replacment

Has anyone spent the $$$ to convert the stock bulbs over to LED bulbs? I am not talking about the fancy LED aftermarket replacement headlight and tail light housings. I am just talking about the bulbs them self. In the past I have spent a couple hundred bucks and replaced every bulb on the vehicle with an LED bulb, and the reasoning is because they are usually so much brighter compared to the incandescent bulb.

Personally I like the stock look but I like the LED performance.

My question is to anyone that has done this was it actually worth it, is your setup brighter than stock??

I am a strong proponent for LED's, so I of course considered it. But in looking at other SD's driving around, the stock incandescents are fine for visibility.
And far less directional than many LED replacements. IMO, the SD lenses are not quite "diffusing" enough to work really well with LED's.

I convert all of my vehicles to interior LEDs, mainly because I can't stand the yellowness of the edison bulbs, and I like the cool white much better. Ebay is a good place for cheap/powerful LEDs; I usually get the style with white/yellow patches; the ones covered in transparent plastic aren't as powerful.

The truck has just one of those right now in the dome light, but I'll probably upgrade the two in the map lights soon as well. My old jetta was pretty bright as it had room for 3 of those map lights in the front and 2 in the rear. The marauder is decently bright as well, I think 2 in the front and 2 in the rear, plus some in the footwells.

My old excursion was by far the worst to upgrade. Both money wise, and the fact that I didn't know about ebay at the time so I bought all bulbs from superbrightleds.com. They're more expensive than ebay, but you know what you're getting as far as lumens and fit. Ebay was more of a gamble, but at 1/5th of the price it was worth it. The other problem in the X was that it used all sorts of wedge bulbs instead of festoon bulbs, which (wedge) don't usually have as much surface and aren't as directional as the flat festoons.

I usually use something like these in the dome lights and they're usually very white/bright:

thanks for the info, i have never been on ebay to get the bulbs, I will have to check it out. I usually I just order from V-Leds, they are located maybe 100 miles from me, if I order I usually get everything next day.

I want to get the interior lights for sure, and the license plate lights.. The brake/blinker/parking/running lights I was just not sure of though..

I have seen good reviews about LED reverse lights as well, because you can get the spot light style that point straight back.

I have given thought to running factory fog lights with LED bulbs in them just for the look since they will will not do much for me with being lifted so high..
