Old video from the 50s of my home town IN COLOR!

Has a lot of cars and truck in color in the first 2-3 minutes, and a bunch of 57 chevy conv. cars at the end

That is really cool, Kevin. I remember as a kid reading about the soap box derby and thinking how that must be the coolest thing ever to do. I have no idea where the closest one was to me, but I know it was way far away.

Seeing the old world in color sure changes the way we view the past. We're so used to see old times in black and white, we don't realize how bright and colorful things used to be. It always looks so drab and dreary in the pictures. Thanks for sharing. It was definitely a different world from today.

Thanks for sharing this. Everyone looks healthy and happy and fit! Those were the days before the stress of modern living and fast food came to town. What about those cars!
What a time to have grown up in!

Quite enjoyable to watch and reminisce. Loved those wooden boats.

Notice how every one is neatly dressed and happy. Go to a public function like that now and compare.

Quite right. One of the most interesting pieces of film I've seen on that regard was some big time prize fight from the 30's. Looking at the audience, it was all men, and every one of them was wearing a suit and tie.

here is another video, It says from 57 but later in the film (when film is loaded wrong and the cars are on the wrong side of the road) there is a 59 chev and a 59 60 buick etc
At 46-47 seconds into the film there is a road side billboard that says Gassy's and that was the local hotrod/accessory shop and I remember my dad talking about buying stuff there.

and this is what the billboard sign looks like (I already have one of these for my truck)

Thank you for sharing. Much simpler and better time. We could sure use some of those values today.
