I have a 94 F250 XLT 351w ... The current transfer case is coroded around the bolts and leaking (Kinda stupid to have an aluminun Tcase with steel bolts if you ask me) Anyway I searched for a new Tcase and i found one. Its a heavy duty Tcase with a slip yoke and PTO. The guy i bought it from said it came out of a 97 f250 or f350 he wasnt sure. The transfer case housing itself is wider than my stock one but it would still easily fit up under the truck. My questions are, is the gearing ratio different in the new one than my stock one?, assuming it did come out of an f350 with a 460 or 7.3 or maybe it didnt IDK! And, am i gonna have a problem with the lengths of my stock drive shafts with this new Transfer case? Also are the bolt patterns on the transmission for the transfer case the same for the new tcase? ... Any help is MUCH appreciated !!! THANKS !!!

Your 94 F250 used a Borg-Warner 1356 T-case. It uses a slip yoke for the rear driveshaft and the front use s single u-joint
96/97s F350s used a Borg Warner 4407 with a bolt on style rear driveshaft and the front uses a cardian joint(double joint).
They are really NOT interchangeable without the driveshafts to go with them(front and rear)
The bolt pattern where the trans and t-case meet are the same from the 70s all the way till 97
