No compression test. It runs good and no smoke even on start up. No leaks anywhere which is good. I haven't driven it much only around neighborhood. Gonna get it tagged and inspected after I get new exhaust on. Current exhaust is shot.
Replacing the heater and radiator hoses. Local parts stores don't have the rad hoses in stock. Will be here tuesday. Did luck into a heater valve tho...
Update on progress... Checked the compression and checked in with 150-160 psi in all cylinders, happy with that. Replaced heater and radiator hoses. Got headers painted with POR 20 heat paint, ready to install. Magnaflow mufflers also ready. Gonna take to the muffler shop to run pipes. Duals out the rear. Made a great craigslist find on some aluminum wheels. Gonna run what I have until I can put new rubber on'em. Pertronix ignition to replace the points coming soon. Dang sure is fun tinkering on this thing....
Got the exhaust on, headers with magnaflows dualed out the back. I also put pertronix ignition in. I don't know if it was exhaust or ignition but the old 302 definately woke up a bit. Started on removing gas tank. The new exhaust had to be lowered a little to get the tank out. That dude had about two pounds of crap in it. I'm repainting it with por15. The tank was in good shape. Gonna replace filler hoses and vent, they were pretty bad. Local parts house don't have that stuff so I have to order.
Its' amazing the old sending unit even worked. Hopefully now the gauge will work.
