WOW! Someone got a smokin' deal. I can believe he had in it what he said. It was ready to go.

Even better, at the current exchange rate, that's only $2400 to you and me.

Could it have been a phishing scam?

I mean who sells a truck like that for pennies - when they know darn well how it cost to restore?

I was talking to my neighbour today and showed him the ad and he said he saw it on there a week or two back listed for $5000.00. Some guys up here might be hitting some rough time with the layoffs in the oil patch and need to unload to pay mortgage. Who knows maybe a nasty divorce.

Heck, for that kind of money I would have taken the 25 hour drive to get it. I have always wanted a Monkey Face Mercury, love the trim.

Aren't those reproduction beds like 2 grand? It is just astonishing what that went for. I think the 'laid off oil worker theory' has some merit.

Those are divorce type deals. Either she wants it gone FAST! so she can say it's gone, and he can't get it.

Or he wants it gone FAST!, cuz he has no place to put it anymore.

Or maybe the guy getting divorced 'sold' it to a friend to buy back later. "See I put an ad out and all it was worth was 3 grand because it's a POS broken old truck and all in pieces and nobody can even drive it". When the dust settles he 'tracks it down' and buys it back......Proving that her half of the truck is a cool 1500. When I got divorced I had to put prices on all my shop tools in the cabinet shop as well as my vehicles and basically anything and everything. My buddy came over and we priced everything out. I got the best of her in the end because all the kids stayed on and lived with me on the place when she ditched. Sorry for the rant, I get started and then.............Goodnight all

But all in all, it would have been worth finding out more about it. Like Bob said, it'd be worth the 25 hr drive!

I've seen that truck posted on here before awhile ago, I remember the pic of the tailgate in another thread. Pretty sure the owner was a member here.
