Look what I saw while on Vacation

The wife and I went up to North Platte Nebraska for a visit and I saw all of these between Sutherland and Brady Ne. on hwy. 30. Now some of these are not Fords but I know where all the old iron is! I saw many more that I couldn't or didn't get pics of. One was a Ford School bus and another on was a Firetruck.

Now all of these were in a town called Maxwell and I was told the guy that owns this property was told by the city to clean it up. There is a sign out by the road that said there will be an auction on July 11th. There was also a no trespassing sign so I took these pics from the highway.

There was a bunch more on the back side of the property that I couldn't get a good picture of.

I'll take the KB IH, and the white Fairlane 500. Another auction, Bob! This could make for a long road trip.

Kenjh, there is a pic of a 54 in there. I bought it in Imperial and have to go back in July and pick it up. Its sitting at my father in laws house now. I too wanted to just wander around and look but he had this hugh sign that said no trespassing. I think he is a little pissed cause the city is making him clean it up. If you could see his property you would see why. Maxwell is just a wide spot in the road but his property is right in the middle and there is vehicles just pulled and stacked every which way. The pics I took look like a staging area and it very orderly compared to the rest of it. Lots of VW's and newer stuff (70's) still scattered all around.
I thought of Bob when I saw this auction. I bet these go for little of nothing, what I have learned out there is if its not functional for farm work they don't buy it. I drove about 700 miles while I was out there just looking around and I did not see the first truck fixed up for show. All of the trucks are work trucks and used on the farms. Didn't really see but 2 or 3 old cars fixed up. Wife said these people didn't have time for stuff like that. That their time was spent in the fields or with the cattle. LOL we would pass by a feed lot with several thousand cattle and the wife would say "smell that"? "thats the smell of money"! NEVER had any money that smelled like that!

Thumbs up Vacation

What a wonderful collection of vintage tin. I bet there are many great stories that these autos could tell.

Wow, there could be some great deals! I hope the word gets out so that the owner is not forced to send them to the crusher. Or, maybe the owner can satisfy the City inspector by selling some and then paying for fence to block the view. Thanks for sharing, Jag

I can understand why he is pissed ...we have a one (1) unlicensed vehicel law here ..and it cost me 3 cars ..68 mustang ,53 chev coupe ,,49 ford sedan ..I kept my 55 meteor sedan ...I never learned to drink,,not into drugs..but old cars gather around me..so I understand ..he has the room ..and if he isn't stealing them...then what the heck is the problem with a couple ..of hundred cars ..ok maybe that is too many ..but ..It is his yard... and we would love to help him ...uuhh care for the cars...
