Hey guys, I have a power inverter that I use from time to time. I would like to increase the idle when I use it. I searched here but I was unable to find any high/fast idle mod. I thought I had seen it one before but I came up empty. Any help you could give me is appreciated.

Every pot I tried was very touchy and I couldn't get it consistantly dialed in. So I removed it. I think the module would be the better way to go.
I use my tuner now.
I have done several of these over the years, but not since 2008, I won't try it again.
The potentiometer works well provided you wish to adjust it every time its activated. Get a high end reliable potentiometer for about $25. The DIY uses the IVS wiring from the accelerator pedal.
I personally prefer the Tuner approach. Yes a bit more expensive providing you are able to wire the DIY process.
In my case it would have been MUCH cheaper to go the Tuner route like I did with DP Tuner.
I finally got around to do mine one evening back in 2008. My sleeve caught a wire strand when I was backing out of the drivers side floorboard and shorted the PCM. $800 for a new PCM and about $300 for a tuner.
Thank goodness it was my truck and not a customers.
I think PCM's have come down in price.
I'll stick with my Tuner That's what I tell EVERYONE who approaches me about this mod for the past six years.
The AIC Modules are getting a bit difficult to find since being discontinued. And, the only thing they control is the idle for almost as much as a chip with a high-idle and several tunes.
I do this with my tuner. Since Nanook of the North is my neighbor, I have the high idle with the EBPV closed - it warms the truck up right quick, but it does not overheat the truck with A/C blowing in the crazy summer heat (battery jump mode).

If your 4R100 has a PTO then it's super easy to do. A simple toggle switch is all you need.
If you have a normal 4R100, then your choices are to make one yourself, purchase an AIC or get a chip with a high idle program. Sometimes you can find an AIC on Ebay for less than $50....summer months are cheaper than winter months. The tuner idea is the method I prefer (unless of course the truck has a PTO then I just wire up a switch and call it good...)
I don't see how it's so easy if you have a pto trans vs a non pto trans. The ecu is the same... So the function is there, just maybe no wires run to it? All psd trucks have the wiring for the idle controller I thought.
Could you elaborate a little more please.

Sure thing.
Since the engine and transmission are controlled by the same module, it's considered a PCM. The term ECU is generally used for modules that only control the engine and a separate TCU is used for the trans (when appropriate). At any rate....yes, the PCM is the same for a PTO or non-PTO 4R100 vehicle, however it is able to determine when a PTO trans is installed. It uses the TSS to figure that out since the ring is different inside the transmission on PTO models. Once the PCM figures out that a PTO trans is installed (takes about 1 mile of driving...) then it activates the PTO Control Circuit that exists in all these trucks. At that point it's a simple matter of providing 12v to the appropriate wire located under the dash (Lt blue with yellow stripe) wire found in the harness running to the OBDII connector. NOT the Lt Blue with yellow wire in the AIC harness....that one has a different function.
Difference between a motor and an engine.... GO!
Or when asking permission "can I go to the garage now" vs "may I go to the garage now"
Anyway
Good to know that it will auto detect. I've looked for a pto automatic to rebuild for my truck, but was hard to find when I wanted it. I ended up using an international power steering pump and the aux idle controller to run my hydraulics.
Good info for people looking for the aux controller, I've found most of mine at junkyards that had ambulances. New ones I found on eBay are getting scarce.
The manual for Muncie PTO drives says there is a time window where the owner has to activate the PTO circuit after about 1 mile of driving but I am not sure that is true. It didn't seem to matter on my trucks...
