When I flip the switch it go's to 1200 rpm INSTANTLY.I did a search about hi idle mod and there was somebody that said his go's too 1200rpm in a nice gradual manner. He said he did the BCP method. So I did the BCP method,Is it supposed to go to 1200rpm INSTANTLY?
I just want to make sure I did it right........Really I don't know how you could do It wrong,It was so easy.
Same Here About 2 Seconds And 1200 Rpm Boom! There It Is, But If The Batteries Are Depleated It Will Go Higher Than 1200 Rpm, Don't Worry This Is Very Normal And It Really Helps To Warm Up The Heater Before The Wife Gets In If You Know What I Mean
Mine takes about 2 seconds to go to 1200 rpm's, I don't know if this counts as instantly.
Yea when I say instant I mean buy the time the switch is half way up she's at 1200!I'm not too worried,I just wanted to see how everybody else's trucks did it.From the posts I think there is no problem,Thanks guys.
Not sure what BCP stands for but I did the high idle mod on my '03 this week and when I flip the switch the idle slowly rizes from 650 to 1250. It's not instantly.
That was my post. I tried it both ways on my 2005. First with the pto wire and then with the bcp. With the bcp the increase was gradual aprox. 2 seconds instead of the snap to 1200 with the pto wire.

BCP stands for "Battery Charge Protect" it keeps the batteries up, and idles up the truck. Mine goes right up once the switch is on. No delay. It's an 05.
I don't get it,I don't know why your guy's trucks idle up slow(2 sec)and mine is right away with no delay at all.Maybe that's how the 07's work.Did you guy's use the purple wire with the light green stripe?I want too make sure I hooked up the "BCP" wire and NOT the "PTO" wire. I'm just trying to figure out why mine is instant and others have a delay.I don't want too lock my torque converter.I think I'm just over thinking this whole thing.
I think everyone has a different idea of what instantly is. I think the best way to see the difference is to try both. It's easy enough and you will hear the difference like I did and you can decide wich one you like.
If you use the PTO engage it locks the torque converter too. I'm not sure that's a good idea unless your using it. BCP can be used for extended periods and some wire it to auto engage when the parking brake is set so you don't need a switch.
In my earlier post I said the idle comes up slowly. From what I have just read, it seems if you use the PTO, (light blue/yellow stripe), the idle comes up slow. I got the instructions from the tech section at the top of this forum. If people use the BCP, the idle increase is instantly. Now I wonder if the PTO was the best way to go. What harm would be done if the PTO way locks up the converter? I would only use it on cooldown after a hard run or to let it warm up for 5 minutes on a cold day.
