High Idle Mod?

Is there a way to increase the idle speed without using a chip or programmer? I know you can do it on the newer 6.0's but haven seen if it could be done on the OBS trucks?

They say with a 140v idm you'll get slightly higher idle and a much smoother idle at that, but i have yet to do it.

The 140 IDM won't increase the idle but it will smooth out the idle the PCM calls for.
You can make one of these:
North Texas Power Stroke Association - DIY AIC Mod
or you can get a AIC that comes on Sooper Dooties. There should be a plug for it under the dash.

Or you can use my High Idle Mod, "HIM". It's my snow scrapper propped against the seat and wedged against the Go Pedal.
It's infinitely adjustable and almost free. LOL!
I like dual-purpose tools

Why are you wanting to raise your idle? Is it just idling low or are you wanting a high idle for warm up times or running equiptment?? When I shimmed my FPR and cleaned the return screen it raised my idle from about 500rpm to around 750.

I saw in you signature that you have a TW chip, I dont know how many positions do you have, but you can send it to Tony and reburn one of the position to HIGH IDLE, and till I know is for free.

TW Hi-idle is 1100 RPM. Not high enough IMO. I want it a bit higher.

How many RPMs does that AIC produce?

So 1,100 are to low and 2,500 are to fast, what are the good RPMs for High idle?

Im only curios because I have the high idle in my TW chip, and really I dont need it for warm up in my town, only when at idle I need the A/C. or something else, like inverter or so.
