I am getting ready to order a good used oem air intake, I know I still have the bottoms bracket with the s&b. But what is this bottom cover I see on the parts list at white bear? Is it needed?

The bottom cover is part of the battery tray. You shouldn't need it, but just pull the S&B to be sure.

Also what do you all do for change intervals on the stock air filter

There is really no set interval on it. The manual states that under normal operating conditions, the filter should be inspected every 7500 miles and replaced as necessary with regard to the filter-minder.
