Alright y'all, well it's Monday, and as they say Mondays suck, and today that holds true for me.
Well I started up the truck and let her warm up for a good 5 minutes (it got in the low 30's last night and got close to 40 this morn.) she went in to first with out a problem (sometimes it'll grind if I try to go into first, I asked my auto tech teacher he said he believes it's the slave cylinder on its way out)
I made it to school 30 mins later, pull into the lot and put it in reverse I backed up went forward, and then when I put it back into reverse it wouldn't back up, as I let off the clutch (slowly) she acted like she wanted to move, but she wouldn't, I tried giving her some gas and still wouldn't move... I have a 1995 F150, cab and a half with the everlasting 4.9 and the 4spd+overdrive trans 2wd
I think I've been told I have an M5OD but don't quote me on it....
I have no idea what this truck is doing can some one help? :-
Any help is appreciated from Texas y'all!
does it feel like it goes into reverse differently than the other gears? real easy like, as if theres nothing there? . . . or . . . difficult like something is binding?
I've barely owned this truck for a month and she's only got 164 and some change on the ticker guess the PO put some stress on the truck..
Thanks F2urd I've been seeing you helpin out quite a bit, sending reps your way man!

something is obviously broken inside the trans
It goes into reverse the same as other gears, just seems weird how it worked when I left my house and about 30 mins later it decided to crap out
Does it move in 5th? OD and Rev are on the same slider in the back of the case. If it moves in 5th, then Reverse gear is broken(somehow). If it won't go into 5th, then something is wrong with the shifter/gate/fork. I'm thinking the fork is broke and likely won't go into 5th right now. That is the most common issue with these transmissions are the forks are very weak.
Ok, it shifts into 5th, but will the truck move? That is my concern.
If the fork is damaged, it will shift like it is suppose to, but won't move the slider and engage the gear. That is why I need you to confirm the truck will actually move in 5th gear.
It is not really hard to replace that fork, as it is in the back of the case. Remove tailhousing and do some simple RnR. Don't have to dismantle the whole box. Just put a M5od together on Saturday.
