Rear Entertainment System Failure
The RES in our 2007 Explorer suddenly stopped working without any specific incident. All lights will continually flash, even while the ignition is off causing a continual drain to the battery. The radio control system reads "connection error - contact dealer" when you try to force a switch to the DVD player.
I pulled the fuse for the DVD/SDARS to cut all power and stop the power drain. The fuse appeared to be intact and functioning. Any ideas what the actual issue might be and how it is repaired? Interestingly, the SDARS has never functioned properly either since I purchased the vehicle. Satellite reception was very spotty to the point I stopped subscribing. It may just be a coincidence they are on the same fuse, but I find it interesting now that I am having DVD issues a year later as well.
