Exclamation Ford Factory Satellite Receiver

I recently ran into a problem with my Factory stereo. It's a Ford stereo model # DZU7A. The battery recently died and after installing a new one I no longer have satellite radio. I contacted Sirius and they said the signal is going out the bill is paid and the problem lies on the stereo's end. They said to take it to the dealer and they will need to do a "Hard Reset". I contacted 3 dealers and they all laughed and said they have no idea what I am talking about. They said I couldn't get in the shop for a week so I removed the unit in search of the typical reset button on electronics. I couldn't find one. Has anyone ever heard of this? is it possible to reset these head units? any suggestions?

Thanks for the response. I removed the head unit and satellite receiver this weekend and reconnected, still nothing. Also disconnected battery terminal for a few hours. Would this reset like removing a fuse and waiting. Do fuse boxes have a backup because the radios am/fm presets never delete like most radios when the battery dies?

You will need to remove fuse 4 and then put ti back in. This usually solves the problem. Basically you are rebooting the system.

Look at your vehicle manual and make certain fuse #4 is the correct one.

Checked all fuses pertaining to the radio. All good. Could the satellite downlink processor been fried when I tried to jump the battery? Found this in the passenger kick panel. Any way to tell its bad without replacing?
