79 door problems

Hi guys I'm having some trouble with my dentside doors.
Looking into replacing the seals in the front and back doors of my crew cab. I found a set for the front here:www.autobodyspecialt.com - 197379FORDTRUCKDELUXEBELTLINEKIT8PIECES Are these a good set? I can't find anything about the back doors weather stripping. Does anybody know of a good place to buy em? They front and back door leak around the edges of the door and inbetween the doors and the glass.

The windows don't roll up or down very well anymore. When rolling up or down the window tilts to the back and I have to hold it upright in order to roll it up. What can I do about this?

The back left door handle doesn't work on the inside, it won't pull back at all because the handle itself is pushing against the door panel. The outside handle works and the door locks and unlocks.

Speaking of door panels, I'm guessing the clips that hold them on the door are broke or missing so the panels make a racket when driving. How hard would it be to resecure them?
Thanks you for your answers

Eta: I found a similar front door kit on the BroncoGraveyard website, should I order from them?

You should be able to get bulk window track weather strip (J C Whitney used to have it), when you take off the door panels there are bolts for adjusting the window tracks, this will take out the slack and they will slide straight

JBG Jeff's Bronco Graveyard has a real nice door deal kit, I got the one for a reg cab and could not be more happy with the fit. And they sale if for a CC, but has to be cut.

Window Weatherstrip Kit (Both Doors)-Broncograveyard.com

Door panel replacement buttons, Autozone or O'Reilly's. Use the GM ones they are longer than the Ford ones. Remove the door opening handle (one phillips screw) and carefully remove the panel. By sliding it fwd to maybe if you are lucky get the door panel part to slide out the metal tab.

It might still have the metal clips...so be very careful. Use a door panel removal tool or make one out of a #3 or 4 flat tip with a V groove cut in the middle of the blade and bend the screwdriver body a bit.

If you use your hands make sure you start on the bottom and have your hands on both side of each spring tab. 3 on the bottom, 2 middle, 3 on top.

Replacement CC rear door panels ARE NOT reproduced ANYWHERE.

I believe the front door regulators are that same as the rear, just flipped in position, left for right.... and maybe upside down? And most are riveted in, just drill out rivet and use a bolt, like in newer (79) trucks.

Overhaul a door panel its easy.

Replace the window roller.

The back left door handle doesn't work on the inside, it won't pull back at all because the handle itself is pushing against the door panel. The outside handle works and the door locks and unlocks.
The window roller (262A32) attaches to the arm of the regulator (23200), then fits into the window channel (21458).

When the roller breaks, the window binds up (tilts), or the window falls down to the bottom of the door.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rear door handle (22600) attaches to the door lock remote control (21818), then its rod (26442) attaches to the door latch (26412) with a nylon clip (386656-S).

If the spring in the remote control has broken and/or the nylon clip has broken, the handle will no longer open the door.

Thanks guys, that's actually the same kit I was looking at on bgy. Is there a tutorial in how to take off the door panels? Do I just stick a screwdriver in the and pop off the tabs? And how am I supposed to get the clips back in?

77&79F250,
Where do you get the red tabs that you epoxy onto the back of the door panel? Are they sourced off other door panels?
Thanks

DL I thought that was pretty much a tutorial...NO do not just stick a screw driver in there and pop off the tabs, you will bust your door panel.

Besides you said it was all loose already....once its off, if the metal tabs stayed in the door just pull them out, if they came out with the panel, slide them off.

Slide the new plastic ones in the slot. Make sure you have all you window regulator issues fixed, because the new tabs are going to hold that new door panel on VERY well.

nutter3, yes I got them off a old door panel with a dremmel and put them back on with some 2 part epoxy, I am also experimenting with JB weld.

A guy needed some trim, I did not want to risk taking it off and breaking the tabs, and it made it easier to ship. So since the bottom of the door panel was cut by the PO to clear speakers, I just cut them off the back side of the scrap piece.

I have not had to chance to install yet and see how the repair holds up. I also made metal reinforcement tabs for the plastic piece under the door pull that takes a beating.

You can notch a piece out to get a better/tighter fit around these 2 bolts. The arm rest and ginger cup covers it and metal door pulls (finger cups) are the way to go.

You can also see the overhaul/repair I did on the corner of the arm rest.
