I thought I would ask and see if anyone has had the inside door handle stick or bind on them. The handle on the drivers side will not lift up and I am getting tired of rolling the window down to get out of the truck. I am thinking I am going to need to remove the interior door panel to see what is restricting the handle. Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
You are on the right track. Open the inner panel and have a look. Could be just about anything. If the window still works, process of elimination would say its NOT any part of the window mechanism causing it. But there are a handful of other pieces of linkage and hardware inside the door that may have come loose.
I just fixed the same issue on my 90. The handle itself was rubbing on the sheet metal around it, on the bottom of the handle. Apaprently it bent a little over 15 years of flexing when the door is opened; just enough that it caused the handle to rub a little.
All I did was bend the metal back a bit, problem solved. The diagnosis and repair of the problem took less than 60 seconds, once the door panel was removed.
Spray some WD-40 in there with the straw- don't tear door down first Try this- you will be surprized- THEN if if now works remove door panel and grease, if you have been having this prob for along time door metal will probally be torn where latch ( what door handle bolts to)attaches- bolts to door, I have weld repair many of these.
