I installed a new water separator valve and I noticed that there was fluid around the ICP electrical plug. The truck seems to run fine. But after reading a thread ( https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...fipw-help.html ), I am starting to wonder. I do have a banks setup installed. Question is ,do I really need to replace that ASAP or can I save up for it. Also,my search here did not show how to get the readings to see if all is working. how do I get these readings & what do I need to get them. Nothing expensive please. My motto is luxury on a budget ! Thanks, Havcel.
To get those readings and many more for that matter you need a scan gauge/tool such as AE, Snap-on or other like system that has a Ford diesel compatible diagnostic package. Many current threads about this here. IE: AE class in session.
I Thank You Sir. I have too many projects under my belt and with 245k on the truck, I have to spend much more time reading, with no interruptions. Happiness is A good running truck and dirty fingernails. I'll do more searching and Hope for improvements. Thanks again, H.
If you have a portable device, Torque Pro (Android) and Dash Command (iOS) plus an OBDII adapter (BT/WiFi for Android, WiFi only for iOS) - you can read your sensors. Alas, Dash Command can't yet see the IPR, which is a key thing to look at for the condition of the ICP system. There are other iOS OBDII apps that can see IPR. I mentioned Dash Command because I've used it and it works.
Well this was long over due guys. As I said , procrastinator Dave here. It finally went. I cleaned out the terminals with a electric motor cleaner and worked great. But it may clean the terminals and be free form oil & stop the shorts, but will not stop the leak from the sensor. So I have to change it. So if anyone has a problem with a leaking sensor on the road, carry a can of motor & brush cleaner to get you home to work on it. Gentlemen, I apologize for not posting back and Thanking You. This is one thing I don't forget about,, but I did. Dave.
I did not read the post you furnished the link to and I don't see it mentioned here. So, When you replace the sensor, go OEM. Riffraff or Diesel O-rings have decent prices...

I started the thread in January. that's when I noticed it wet. When I came back to the site to do more searching, i came back to see I failed to Thank the guys. I'm just sitting here waiting to change my oil & filters, Haven't ordered it yet but I am going to look that up And here is my " Thank You " to you. Beside regular maintenance I only work on the truck when it's broke!. Also I have Banks Power in it. (thanks to my wife). You know, I'm going to change the oil now. Thanks for the help

Dash command can read IPR duty cycle discovered this the other day it is under fuel in the all pid's just add it to the dash grid and then validate it under the vehicle settings and wolla it works. If you look under the supported pid list it's not there. Sorry for the mini hi-Jack
FiznUKa - thank you for mentioning that. I did notice the IPR is now available on Dash Command - this has changed since I originally posted the info above. Because of this change, Dash Command is now a viable (and powerful) option to Torque Pro. If you are ambitious, you can download DashXL to start customizing the appearance of Dash Command with a lot of cool editing options. In this way, Dash Command may actually be a better option than Torque Pro - but I would need a lot of time on my hands to fully demonstrate what I learned while tinkering with DashXL a few years ago. This is one of those things where I drop the lead and "dash" off.
ARRG. Today is a Holiday. and since it is Labor Day especially, I can not complain. Our cheap government will not enforce this day. Today is a day to Honor Everyone in the Labor and work group,,,, And no one should be Not Working Today, and it should be a Day when Everyone, you me, her, him , them, they,,,,everyone, should just sits their *** down and lay back, raise their drink and say to all " This Day Honors Me "..... .............but if you do have to work,,,,please deliver my part today,,,,,please.. Hope Everyone has a great Holiday weekend. Later
Ok, I'm looking for one of the smiles faces where he is bowing down and saying, "You the Man". Yesterday I got the part and started the truck. It worked. Did I test run it ,,No. But I just came back from the deli now and had to post this. All I can say is "Wow!! and of course Previously: You the Man. Damn, I procrastinated this ICP since January and cleaned it off again & again. Now it's changed. What a difference. Especially with Banks Power in the truck, I feel it now. All I can say is
Yeah... while Dodge and Chebby are always after more fuel pressure for better power, it's the ICP that counts on a HEUI injector. A bad ICP sensor usually fails on the side of reading higher than actual, and this tricks the PCM into lowering the actual ICP - making the truck anemic.

No need for apology. You're giving advice from your post. I'm ready to buy the Torque or Dash, but I'm waiting for my wireless sensor. Being and Ole Guy, lol, I either have to crawl in my hole or start learning all over again. .. an example. my previous cell phone was,at least 12 years old. I just confiscated my wife's new phone last month, (a latest one), and now I'm realizing now why everyone has their phone to their face. ......Where have I been.?
Great idea FinzaUKa........... If a can't beat them, either die trying ,or join em. this time , I'll join em Again ,,Thanks All
