Heading to TN to pickup my grandfathers original 1950 F1. It's been in a basement for 28 years. I'm going to need help from this forum throughout this rebuild.. willl a V8 engine fit right in?

3. Tell us your plans for the truck4. Take lots of pictures.
I have the 52 timing chain cover for your swap. The engine is attached at the front via the timing chain cover and at the rear via the transmission. There are no other attachment points. Attach the rear of the engine to the transmission. Transmission holds the engine in place at the rear.
Great story, Glad to see you are starting to get onto the repair. It looks like you have a nice truck too. Looking at your replacement motor I see a small tag on the freeze plug in the back of the head, that's a good indication the engine was overhauled at a rebuild facility at some time. Keep us posted.
