When you say a show truck, are you going resto, resto-custom or custom? Personally, I would hunt down the yards for the bumpers, find the straight ones and send it in for show chroming. You may want to think about fabbing the grille if your doing some custom route. There are examples on here for different, custom and BEAUTIFUL grilles and door panels, etc.
This is my rendering of what im doing below, i was wanting to go with all new parts and not rechroming or any of that.... So i guess its resto-custom
My 2 cents - you can't beat an original grille shell. They're made of aluminum. Get one from a salvage yard, use lye to strip the anodizing (drain cleaner), tap out any dents, sand it, polish it and then seal it. It will look brand new.
I did it on my 79 restoration and it looks as good as new. You can have it re-anodized as well.
My rear panels are fine, i did order the driver front from DC. Also got my bumpers ordered from JBG.
Only thing I havent ordered is the grille shell. Im thinkin about getting the steel one from LMC despite lmc's reputation. The steel one comes with a 5 year warranty on defects in material and workmanship.
Would love to hear feedback from someone who has purchased one
