hey guys any thoughts on easy cheapest way to build a wood bed on my 87 f150 4x4. and that probably would be the best time to swap out and repair any issues with tanks huh.

Not hard at all! Just done one for mine, don't get me wrong mines cheap(planning on getting a bed soon) but I built mine with scrap 4x4s and only bought 2x8s for the deck. My phone want allow me to post pics but later I will try on my PC. But yea not at all hard or laborsome. Took about half a day and some paint!

You may need to check your local laws if you plan using a wood bed long term.

I only say this because I know a guy that built a nice low profile bed for his 84 F150, but then he couldn't get it through inspection.
They said he had to have it certified before they would pass it. So now the truck sits parked.

Unfortunately I don't know the details, that is just what he told me. PA seems
pretty strict though compared to other states when it comes to inspections.
