Don't know about getting a new factory unit, but I bought a Sony 10CD changer at Best Buy for $250.00. I mounted the changer behind the front seat and put the display on the dash next to the radio. It plays through 83.1FM or you can change it to another frequency. Put 10 CDs in, put in on shuffle and your good to go for about 10 hours of music.
It also has a credit-card sized remote that you can use.
I put a JVC CD changer pretty much like the Sony one that Bubba describes under the front seat of Mrs *****'s extended cab Chevy. Works quite well as stated.
Technically, it wouldn't be 83.1. The FM Band starts at 88Mhz. It might be 88.1, or 87.7 (That was the extension to the FM band by the FCC to be able to pick up the Television stations broadcast on an FM radio so people driving home could hear the news. ) ANyway. Most changers put the signal on 88.1 or 87.7. Also, I have a 98 F150 with a factory deck that has AM/FM, CD, and Cassette all in one. Pretty nice. I also have a system, but I love the looks of a stock deck and a sick audio system (crossover, bass engines, boosters, etc) that can enhance the stock decks sound. So, I would go to Ford and ask them about the stock decks that would have all 3 options that you want.
Look on e-bay. There are always some on there. Make sure it is out of a pick-up though, they are factory equilized for different vehicles. I installed a cd/cassette in mine and it had poor base response. It was factory equilized for an Explorer. It said on the sticker on the back. So I went back to the factory cd player for now.

Yeah, I pulled that 83.1 straight out of my butt. I have it on a preset station so I never have to dial it in. I'm pretty sure it's 88.3 and of course the actual frequency would depend on what you could set the transmitter to and probably varies from model to model.
I'm sure the stock in-dash would look much nicer and would also cost much more than the Sony or JVC. Does it play more than one cd or does it have a changer?
It just depends on what you are looking for and how much you want to pay. I like my Sony just fine. I had it in my car but I took it out and put it in the truck since we drive it all the time now.
Mine is just a single cd. They make a stock in dash cd changer. But mine has a cd changer control from the deck. Easier to just put one under the seat and have the stock deck control it. But that's where it gets technical. Thats why I love being a certified mobile electronics specialist.
